We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable winter break. We
are getting right back into the swing of things.
The next units we will be studying include the Arctic and Antarctica,
civil rights, and poetry. If your child has something related to one of these
topics that they would like to share, please encourage them to let us know. We
will let you know about any upcoming assignments related to these topics.
A New Arrival!We made a new friend this week when we welcomed a Society Finch to the classroom to keep our Zebra Finch, Chirp-Chirp, company. After making suggestions and voting as a class, it was decided that the new bird would be named Cocoa. If you haven’t met her yet, please feel free to visit when you pick up or drop off your child.
Reminders/Events
· Book club is moving to Mondays! Sorry for the confusion on Thursday. We hope that the change will allow more people to join us. The first book club of 2013 will be on January 14 , from 3:15-3:45. Hope you can make it!
· Until further notice, the Friday walk will be from approximately 1pm-2pm, so we are walking during a warmer time of the day. Volunteers are still appreciated! We will let you know when the walk returns to the morning.
· There will be no classes January 21 and 22, due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and a teacher workday.
· The Tubac Festival will soon be here! Keep an eye out for ways to volunteer and support the school, as well as information about parking, pick-ups and drop-offs during the festival.
